Virtues of Men

Virtues of Men

Paul leaves Titus in Crete and appoints him to ordain elders in every city.  In Titus chapter 1:5-9 it tells us what qualities the leaders of God’s “household” must have.

Whether you are a Missionary, Evangelist, Bishop, Pastor, Preacher, Teacher or a Saint all MEN should be compelled to live by the following virtues as stated in Titus: ·         Be blameless

 ·       The husband of one wife

 ·         Have faithful children not accused of being wild or disobedient

 ·         Not overbearing or self-willed

 ·         Not quick tempered

 ·         Not given to drunkenness

 ·         Not Violent

 ·         Not pursuing dishonest gain

 ·         Must be hospitable

 ·         One who loves what is good

 ·        Who is self-controlled

 ·         Upright

 ·         Holy and disciplined

 ·         Hold steadfastly to the truth as it has been taught

 ·         Encourage others by sound doctrine and refute others that oppose it

In Titus chapter 2:1-2, 6-9 it tells us what young men need to learn and older men need to teach.

 ·         Older men need to be temperate

 ·         Worthy of respect

 ·         Self-controlled

 ·         Sound in faith, in love, and in endurance

 ·         Encourage the young men to be self-controlled

 ·         Be an example by doing what is good.

 ·         While teaching them show integrity, seriousness, and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned
