“The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, prepare ye the way of the Lord” (Isaiah 40:3). Every major move of God in Scripture was preceded by a tectonic shift of society to accommodate the new, revolutionary message. God will not pour His new wine into old wineskins; He will not suffer His message to be diluted and suffocated by existing conditions that defeat His divine purpose.
Roads do not precede their preparation. It’s dynamite first, then the highway; it’s the earthmoving, then the paving. The curbs can’t go in until the ditches are dug. Isaiah prophesied of John the Baptist, the forerunner of Christ.
